Power supply and communication are two things that are needed for absolutely all electronic devices. The mainstays in this portfolio are the miniUSB and microUSB communication and power connectors. There are a few small and minor differences between them.
The mini-USB connectors were introduced along with USB 2.0 in April 2000. Their main use was to power cameras, smartphones, PDAs and tablets. From May 2007, the mini-USB-A and mini-USB-AB were discontinued and the manufacturers discontinued production and support. MiniUSB-B are still manufactured and supported.

The micro-USB connectors were introduced to the market in January 2007. Their main benefit is half the thickness of the mini USB, so they were supposed to logically replace them and allow the connector height to be halved. Another advantage was the mechanical processing, which had a lifespan of approximately 10,000 on / off cycles. It is also important to mention that the microUSB-AB standard accepts both variant A and variant B for connection.
According to the basic division, we also divide MicroUSB into three types:
- micro USB - A (still in production)
- micro USB - AB (still in production)
- micro USB - B (still in production, in stock with us)
